      ZABAGED® - Planimetric Components

      The Fundamental Base of Geographic Data of the Czech Republic (ZABAGED®) is a vector geographical digital model of the territory of the Czech Republic. At present, the planimetric component of ZABAGED® consists of 145 types of geographical objects: settlements, transport networks, utility networks and pipelines, hydrography, territorial units and protected areas, vegetation and land cover, terrain relief, and selected data on geodetic control points. The objects are represented by a two-dimensional vector spatial component and a descriptive component containing qualitative and quantitative information about the objects.

        Municipality polygons classified using a experimental polygon-based (object-oriented) DEGURBA model. The classification is based on accurate spatial identification of settlement clusters and subsequent aggregation of population into administrative units.

        Degree of urbanisation (DEGURBA) for municipalities (Scope 2)

        Municipality polygons classified according to the prevailing DEGURBA category (Scope 2). The classification is based on the aggregation of population data from the grid and considers the share of population in individual urbanisation classes, including the hierarchy of the settlement system.
