    ZABAGED® - Planimetric Components

The Fundamental Base of Geographic Data of the Czech Republic (ZABAGED®) is a vector geographical digital model of the territory of the Czech Republic. At present, the planimetric component of ZABAGED® consists of 145 types of geographical objects: settlements, transport networks, utility networks and pipelines, hydrography, territorial units and protected areas, vegetation and land cover, terrain relief, and selected data on geodetic control points. The objects are represented by a two-dimensional vector spatial component and a descriptive component containing qualitative and quantitative information about the objects.

INSPIRE theme Hydrography - Physical Waters (HY_P)

The INSPIRE Hydrography data are harmonised according to INSPIRE implementing rules and conform to the INSPIRE XML schema version 4.0. This hydrography dataset for the Czech Republic therefore has a unified structure consistent with other data produced for this INSPIRE theme across Europe. Objects are represented by a vector component with attributes containing additional information about the objects. The source dataset is the Fundamental Base of Geographic Data of the Czech Republic (ZABAGED®). The dataset is processed according to the Physical Waters application schema and contains the following object types: Watercourse (centreline and area for watercourses wider than 4 m), StandingWater, LandWaterBoundary, Falls, Crossing (bridge, culvert, aqueduct), DamOrWeir, Ford, and Lock. Attributes are populated based on ZABAGED® data (including names), values that can be derived (e.g., area size), and values that are constant across the dataset (e.g., all names are in Czech and written in the Latin alphabet).

INSPIRE theme Hydrography - Network (HY_NET)

The INSPIRE Hydrography data are harmonised according to INSPIRE implementing rules and conform to the INSPIRE XML schema version 4.0. The dataset is processed according to the Hydro-Network application schema.

INSPIRE – Network of groundwater level monitoring objects

Feature layer depicting the location of boreholes observing groundwater level in shallow and deep aquifers. Currently, most of the measuring objects are equipped with automatic stations that record locally or transmit the data. These stations record once a day. Originally, the boreholes were observed by volunteers with a weekly frequency of measurement. Most of new measuring objects were built during the so-called ISPA project. They went into operation in 2007. The data are stored in the Central Regime Database of Groundwater which is maintained by the Hydrology Database and Water Budget Department.

INSPIRE – Network of groundwater discharge monitoring objects

Feature layer depicting the location of springs where the observation of yield is performed. In the past, all springs were observed by volunteers. Currently, these springs are still partly monitored in this way, and partly monitored with equipment having a daily measurement frequency. The data are stored in the Central Regime Database of Groundwater which is maintained by the Hydrology Database and Water Budget Department.
